IRD Assists Victims of the Darfur Crisis in Eastern Chad
Eastern Chad – June 11, 2007 – IRD is currently accepting cash donations for the victims of the violence in Darfur and eastern Chad. Donations will be used to support projects covering a wide range of areas such as direct food and non-food item distribution, agricultural assistance, training in animal husbandry, and nutritional support for women and children.

Making a Big Difference: IRD Leads Makeover of Armenian Schools for Disabled Children
Yerevan, Armenia — March 12, 2007 — Imagine the following scenario: 117 disabled children attend school in a three-building complex. Building A houses the administrative offices, a kitchen and a cafeteria. The cafeteria is expensive and difficult to heat, its ceiling is cracked, and holes leaking dirt and water are everywhere. Several windows are broken, and the walls are crumbling. Building B houses the dorm and class rooms. Building C holds laundry facilities and bathrooms where even in the harshest of winter weather children have to run from the bathroom building after showering, through the yard to the dorm building where they live and take naps. IRD US Receives $50,000 Grant from AARP
Washington, DC – February 20, 2007 – The AARP Foundation has awarded International Relief and Development United States (IRD US) a one-year grant of $50,000 so that IRD US can hire one fulltime and one part time social worker to provide case management services to needy people aged 50 and older. The grant continues until 2008.

IRD BEGINS RELIEF FOR ZAMBEZI FLOOD VICTIMS
