Africa | ||
For thousands of children in Duk County in Southern Sudan, less than 200 miles from the Ethiopian border, going to school means sitting under a tree with dozens of other children. Or if they do have a classroom, it is often made of mud, which is hot and dusty and dissolves in each rainy season.

The Americas | ||
The third and fourth grade students of the Banjul American Embassy School (BAES) in The Gambia learned of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on the 12th of January 2010 and decided to take action.

Asia & the Pacific | ||
Thirty years of past conflict and instability in Aceh have left an indelible mark on many communities. With less developed coping mechanisms, youth in particular are still dealing with the traumatic effects of violence and hostility they witnessed at early ages. |

Europe and Eurasia | ||
IRD is helping to rehabilitate the water supply to Kosovo villages. These villages, with a total population of 22,000, are currently being supplied with drinking water from individual wells that do not meet quality standards for drinking water.

The Middle East | ||
IRD is working with local NGOs with funding from USAID, to assist 3,500 vulnerable families with food, winter clothing, household items, children’s school supplies, and hygiene kits for elderly and people with special needs through targeted parcel distributions and community awareness-raising events. |
