Washington, DC — December 23, 2006— Almost two years after the South Asian tsunami – one of the most destructive natural disasters in recent history – people are still struggling to get back on their feet. The world responded generously to the disaster, and now, step by step, the rebuilding of basic infrastructure such as water and sanitation, schools and health clinics, as well as job training to help economic development, is making a difference.
