Our Stories

Afghanistan ― July 21, 2010 ― USAID’s Provincial Strategic Roads Project in Southern and Eastern Afghanistan (SPR-SEA) is building high quality roads, made to last, in some of the world’s most inhospitable and hostile places.

USAID and the Government of Afghanistan have made provincial roads a priority as roads pave the way for development across Afghanistan; not only connecting rural and remote communities, but connecting Afghanistan to the region and to the rest of the world.

Roads construction also creates jobs for rural Afghans and the Strategic Provincial Roads Program provides the backbone for development corridors across this impoverished nation.
