Letter From Our President
Welcome to IRD Recruitment
A message from Dr. Arthur B. Keys, President and CEO of IRD
On March 9, 1998, my wife, Jasna, and I began International Relief and Development. By August of that year we had a program distributing pharmaceuticals and medical commodities in the Republic of Georgia, a program we still have.
Today, I look back on IRD and see how much has changed. Now IRD has thousands of employees, is in more than 44 countries, and has implemented programs delivering billions of dollars in aid to hundreds of millions of beneficiaries. But a few things are still the same: we're still an organization committed to the philosophy of community-based development; we still see possibilities that others may fail to see; we still think of the people we serve before we think of convenience.
And perhaps most importantly, we still think the energy, enthusiasm, and commitment of our staff is the heart of IRD. We believe in our local staff, and promote staff members who deliver to major positions of responsibility. One of our first employees in Georgia is now Special Assistant to the President here in Washington, D.C.
When Jasna and I set out on the journey into the unknown, we imagined an organization like IRD today. We were confident that we could deliver the resources needed utmost to the world's most vulnerable people. If you believe in doing the same, please consider applying today. As IRD continues to grow, you will contribute to our strength that will ultimately enable us to do more together than any of us could do on our own.
Dr. Arthur B. Keys, Jr.
