In September of last year, IRD launched it's first ever photo contest. There were over 50 entries from IRD's field offices all over the world: Indonesia, Somalia, Zimbabwe, Jordan, Liberia, Armenia, Timor, Cambodia, and South Sudan. More than thirteen IRD programs were represented. The prizes included a Flipcam to the first place winner and iPod Shuffles to the three finalists. Maggie Mzumara from IRD’s Zimbabwe office was last year's Grand Prize winner. The other three finalists were Ligaya Diaz, IRD Liberia; Ellen Vonleh, IRD Liberia; and Ita Perwina, IRD Papua, Indonesia . All Finalist’s (top 12) entries are posted on IRD’s Flickr page at www.flickr.com/photos/ird_voices

This year in August, IRD will host the second IRD Photo Contest, and we need your help in determining a theme! Please let us know your suggestions for a theme by commenting on this blog. Some ideas might be: "Why I Work in Development," "Favorite Success Story," and "A Day in the Life of a Community Member."
