Gifts in Kind
The Acquisitions and Logistics team is a key component of IRD’s Program Operations (PO), Business Development (BD) and Relief & Humanitarian Aid sectors. The Logistics Team bolsters ongoing programs by providing targeted Gift-in-Kind (GIK) shipments to our programs and partners, adding value and providing for an effective cost-share. Emergency aid shipments implemented through IRD’s relief teams critically enhance IRD’s ability to respond in areas of water/sanitation, food, clothing, and shelter. Donations of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals and other commodities that are unavailable in recipient country, strengthen IRD relationships with partners on the ground and with funding sources. We have demonstrated a track record of delivering aid in even the most difficult environments. This is an important role in reaching out to the world’s most vulnerable populations and providing them with the tools and resources needed to improve lives and build livelihoods.
